Shovel Knight Contest Entry -Order of the Carousel

It was really fun designing these, and I feel the concepts worked well together quite nicely, and I was able to incorporate a few things already in the games into some of the ideas, like the propeller rats and the food buried in parts.

Specter Knight is a lot about extending his undeath as long as possible, so I could very well see the afterlife not being too fond of that, sending their own knights to retrieve this defiance of  the natural order.

The carousel idea partly came due to me thinking the horse leg movements could prove rather complex to animate in the 8 bit style, and also I just found it funnier and more in tune with the Shovel knight style for these guys to not seem too overly intimidating.

put some hints of humor in there too like Death's horse already being dead and as a rockey horse, along with his watermelon jester like pants. (the rocking horse was also due to me wanting to avoid a scythe, given Specter Knight already uses a scythe)

I had some more sketches in mind to flesh out the bosses, but I'm pulling it really close to the deadline so I wrapped up there.
